We left Bettendorf at 0600 and drove through to just North of Lexington KY. Meet our good friends Tom and Diane at the Kentucky Horse Park Campground. Arrived shortly after 1600 (EST) and traveled just over 500 miles. The campground was very nice, well maintained and we were located close to the bathhouse, (site D235). Had torrential rainfall (3.5") on Thursday night.
Camped next to Tom and Diane, they traded in their teardrop for an A-liner then upgraded again to a Coachman RV. After breakfast by Diane on Friday morning we drove to Williamsburg KY about 45 minutes north to the Ark Encounter. The Ark is a museum of sorts made to the exact specs of the original. It is over 500 feet long and 5 stories high. Still overcast, Temp in the mid 80's and humid.
Inside the ark is a museum which Chronicles the 40 days and 40 nights, there are no live animals inside however there are many, many diorama's depicting life on the ark. It was very well presented and done.
Weather finally cleared after 4 hours...
After a late lunch at the ark returned to the horse park to watch a couple of Missy's barn mates ride.
On Saturday traveled south of Cincinnati to the Creation Museum, as the name implies it is a museum about the creation
The museum is great and well worth the visit. Spent about 5 hours here.

Sunday we visited the Kentucky Horse Park. Includes a museum, and barn and various horse shows, including a parade of breeds, and a draft horse presentation. The grounds also have several large bronze statues of famous horses.

We had a wonderful time on our fall trip. Returned to Bettendorf on Monday with a straight through drive once again. We covered a total of 1390 miles.
