2020 - Rock Creek State Park Grinnell Iowa - June 11-14th

Like most we have been remaining close to home during the COVID out break, not by choice, as there were not any campgrounds open.  Got lucky just after the State of Iowa announced the opening of some parks and grabbed site #19.  Rock Creek is close to Grinnell Iowa where I grew up as a kid.  It was within 7 miles of Grinnell so spent quite a bit of time here growing up.  I still have family here.  Site #19 (electric) is just o.k. without any shade and somewhat un-level, but lucky to have it.

Of course Ellie did join us for our first outing and actually got a little swimming in.  It was a great weekend as we did visit with family while in the area, and also got a little bike ridding in.  Campground is very clean and quit at night.  They also have a campground store very close to site which prompted an occasional walk for ice cream.  Next time we go think we will rent a pontoon for an evening, very nice no wake lake..
