Which Way do We GO?

Well the decision is made...headed to Jasper National Park in on the border of Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. It's about 2400 Miles from Bettendorf. We left home around 11:45 and arrived in Waseca, MN at 5:30 P.M.   Glacier N.P. unfortunately continues to burn with very poor air quality. Hurricane plague the south and east coast so headed way north where they have cold dry weather. Hopefully will make it to north central North Dakota tomorrow. ..

Ready to Roll

All packed with a departure time of 11:45.

Traveling Companion

Meet Aurora who will be traveling with us this year. Aurora is a traveling pet adopted by the 3rd grade class of John Glenn Elementary in Donahue, Iowa.
Mrs. Vinnie Smith ask if Aurora could travel with us, since our 7 year golden retriever, Ellie, will not be going this year (she has to cat sit). You may see Aurora (AKA A-dog) during our trip.
A-dog spent the evening being briefed by Ellie on our trip plans.....

Preping

Spent part of morning pre-cooking meal items and freezing them.  Saves time and cleanup. Inventory all of our perishables and all ready for fridge and coolers.  Still waiting and watching fires, considering heading to Jasper N.P. in Canada first. Basically doing our planned trip in reverse..we will see....no hurry to decide..

The Packing has Begun

18 days on the road takes some planning, unlike staying at a hotel. Most meals we will do ourselves and staying "off the grid" for the most part, which means no electricity or hookups. Pretty much will haul everything we need for 7-10 days then restock what we need.  Spent part of the day today topping off prpane, retesting heaters, stove, and solar panel. Repacking and inventory of trailer essentials, repair kts, tools and first aid kit. Climbing /hiking gear all packed as well as rain gear. All the water, and drinks and shelter are staged to be packed Wednesday night.  Still keeping an eye on Glacier fires, but as it stands now, no change in plans.
