Decided on heading back to the Southwest, seemed like the only place in US not under a weather siege! Long day, even A-dog was having second thoughts! 712 miles, 12.5 hours of driving, left Waseca at 7:30 is arrived in Dodge City at 8:05 PM...no problem! 3 stops for gas, plus 2 additional stops to stretch legs! On to the Spanish Peaks in Colorado tomorrow. Mountains here we come.

Which Way do We GO?
Well the decision is made...headed to Jasper National Park in on the border of Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. It's about 2400 Miles from Bettendorf. We left home around 11:45 and arrived in Waseca, MN at 5:30 P.M. Glacier N.P. unfortunately continues to burn with very poor air quality. Hurricane plague the south and east coast so headed way north where they have cold dry weather. Hopefully will make it to north central North Dakota tomorrow. ..

Traveling Companion
Meet Aurora who will be traveling with us this year. Aurora is a traveling pet adopted by the 3rd grade class of John Glenn Elementary in Donahue, Iowa.
Mrs. Vinnie Smith ask if Aurora could travel with us, since our 7 year golden retriever, Ellie, will not be going this year (she has to cat sit). You may see Aurora (AKA A-dog) during our trip.
A-dog spent the evening being briefed by Ellie on our trip plans.....

Preping
Spent part of morning pre-cooking meal items and freezing them. Saves time and cleanup. Inventory all of our perishables and all ready for fridge and coolers. Still waiting and watching fires, considering heading to Jasper N.P. in Canada first. Basically doing our planned trip in reverse..we will see....no hurry to decide..
